Thirty political parties have signified interest to participate in the November the 26th governorship election in Ondo state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident electoral commissioner in the state, Olusegun Agbaje who disclosed this at a news conference in Akure, the state capital, said the thirty political parties have concluded their primary elections.
He added that no stone will be left unturned to ensure successful conduct of the election.
The commission, according to the resident electoral commissioner, will recruit three thousand presiding officers and nine thousand assistant presiding officers for the election.
A total of one million, two hundred thousand voters had collected their permanent voter cards as at August this year.
Agbaje also appealed to political parties to avoid getting involved in verbal wars and inflammatory comments capable of igniting political tension in the state.
The stage is now set for the governorship candidates to begin campaign for the election.
