The Lagos state government has identified the empowerment of women as pivotal to the growth of the nation.
The state through its Ministry of women affairs and poverty alleviation on Monday distributed various empowerment materials to vulnerable women who came out in their numbers from across the state.
The commissioner, Lola Akande presented the materials which included grinding machines, hair dryers ,sewing machines and food materials.

According to her, the state has identified the role of women as key to nation building and their empowerment will help families fare better in the face of harsh economic realities.
Beneficiaries lauded the initiative of the ministry and advised other parastatals of government to invest in people.
