TVC E. Police arrest man for dumping father’s corpse in septic tank in his compound at night in Okpanam, Delta State to avoid burial expenses has been arrested by the police.
The man who hails from Uli, Anambra State was paraded Tuesday before news men in Asaba by the Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu.
TVC NEWS Correspondent Carl Ofonye reports that, his appeal in Igbo language as he wails and cries before news men was that the government should have mercy on him because he did what he did out of poverty.
The Delta State Police Command’s Image maker says his crime against his father’s corpse is punishable under Nigerian law. Kalu, a Superintendent of Police, SP insisted that though Mr Felix was not the person responsible for the death of his father, his action in throwing him into a soak-away pit cannot go unpunished.
When interviewed, the 36 year old Felix did not deny the allegations against him. Instead, he explained the circumstances that made him to commit the felony and pleaded for forgiveness.
It was reported that, Mr Felix Udenwa who is a bricklayer, committed the felony at night in the compound of his rented apartment in Amachai quarters, Okpanam where he lives with his family.
The deceased man dumped in a septic tank was said to have died a few days after he was brought from his residence in Ibusa to Felix’s place in Okpanam for care following a protracted ailment. Carl Ofonye TVC News Asaba Delta State.
