The Ahmed Markafi-led caretaker committee of the main opposition party, the PDP has started the process for its convention on August the 17th, even as the party awaits a ruling on the suit filed by the factional chairman, Ali Modu Sherrif, to stop the convention.
The party has inaugurated a convention and financial committee and commenced sale of forms to persons vying for elective positions.
Ahmed Markafi once again reassured the public of a transparent process and called on delegates to shun money bag politicians , but vote for the best candidate.

The party is confident it will emerge greater and more united.
