TVC E. A 24-year-old man, Chijoke Eze, was on Friday, August the 26th, 2016 brought before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for being in possession of fake Naira currency.
The accused, whose address was not supplied, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and possession of fake Naira currency.
When the charges were read out to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Inspector, Cousin Adams, told the court that the offenses were committed at one of the new generation banks on Aug. 23, at about 1.00p.m., in Ebute Meta.
He said that the accused was found in possession of fake Naira currency amounting to N100, 000 when he was about to pay it into the bank.
The offenses, Adams noted, contravened Sections 328 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs Helen Omisore, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned till Sept. 14, for mentioning.
