The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has appointed Ghollywood actor, John Dumelo as ambassador for Obstetric Fistula in Ghana.
“Happy to be appointed by the United Nations Population Fund as Ambassador for Obstetric Fistula in Ghana. Very humbled; everytime you think you are being rejected from something good, you are actually being redirected to something better. The grace of God is about to alter your destiny. Amazing things will start happening in your life and you will wonder why. Don’t wonder, you are destined to be great,” the actor announced.
With countless numbers of endorsement and awards to his credit, Dumelo is one public figure who uses his status to promote peace and other awareness campaign.
The excited actor also shared the story of one of the benefactors of the campaign, Stella; “She successfully had surgery to fix her obstetric Fistula complications. Obstetric Fistula is when a hole is created as a result of the head of a baby being stuck between the bladder and the vagina during child birth. As a result of the hole, the woman passes urine and sometimes defecates uncontrollably for the rest of her life. It’s only surgery that can fix this problem. Stella is now ok and she’s has her life back.”
