Two groups of pensioners in Osun state are now at loggerheads over the recently celebrated silver jubilee of the creation of the state.
A group says government should not have celebrated the day in view of its indebtedness to workers and pensioners while the other group disagrees.
Chairman of one of the groups, Omoniyi Ilesanmi claims that governor Rauf Aregbesola has not fulfilled his statutory obligation towards the pensioners saying many lives have been lost in the struggle, while others are bedridden.
He implored the governor to pay all their outstanding benefits without further delay to end their sufferings.
But in his reaction, the chairman of the triangular group of pensioners which is in support of the government, Rotimi Adelugba said governor Aregbesola is paying their pensions according to the agreement reached the labour leaders.
He claimed that the other group is being sponsored against the government of the day.
