How Fela inspires me – Afrobeat singer, Ms Bodega

TVC E. Ms Bodega is a NewYorker of Israeli descent and an International Afrobeat singer. She is also a singer, producer and founder of Bodega World Music .

Bodega recently collaborated with dance hall crooner, Timaya in a tune tittled Watta.

Watta is an Afrobeat song which is gradually getting airplay on airwaves. The song according to Ms Bodega was inspired by the late Fela’s ‘Water no get enemy’.

From Wizkid to Davido, more artistes are gradually embracing the Afrobeat genre because of its rich melody and African percussion.

On how the Afrobeat legend, Fela inspires her, Ms Bodega said:

“The love and respect I have for Fela triggered my interest in making an Afrobeat song. Fela is known all over the world for Afrobeat and it is only good for me to honour him with this song”
