TVC E. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State Chapter, wants divine intervention in the face of frequent attacks by the Fulani militia on farmers in the state.
Chairman of CAN, Demsa Chapter, Rev Ozias Taiya who led a procession by Christians in the area said they embarked on the exercise for God to touch the hearts of the Fulani militia which killed no fewer than 30 people in a Christian-dominated community in the state.
CAN says it doesn’t have guns to defend its members, but would rather opt for prayers and fasting to draw God’s attention to their plight.
Residents of the community also raised a fresh alarm that their attackers have converted their farmlands to grazing fields for their cattle.
Most of the villagers who spoke to TVC News in Demsa, said they spotted herdsmen bearing sophisticated weapons on their farms.
They called on government and security operatives to come to their aid by disarming the herdsmen, so that they can return safely to their farmlands.
A service was held at LCCN number one, Demsa for the slain Christians.
The CAN members visited the palace of Hama Bata, his royal highness Homun Gladstone Teneke who commended them for the peaceful steps taken so far.
The Royal father urged government to set up a panel of enquiry on the latest killings.
