TVC E. Two men, Nasiru Nafiu and Isah Idris, have been charged before a Grade One Area Court in Karu, Abuja for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Barr Mahmoud Lawal Ismail said one Azeez Majolagbe of phase1 Jikwoyi reported the matter to Jikwoyi Police Station on August 4, 2016.
The prosecutor said he reported to police, saying that on the same date at about 19:30hrs at Kurudu, a suburb of the FCT Abuja, the two defendants and some other men now at large, all jointly conspired and assaulted him, beat him up and criminally collected the sum of N20,000 and one C3 Nokia phone valued N5,000 and inflicted injury on his face.
The prosecutor further explained that, on the same date at about 20:45hrs, the first defendant, Nasiru Nafiu, was arrested with a black small bag containing dried leaves suspected to be Indian-hemp.
