TVC E. The federal government on Thursday, June 1, scrapped the post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) for
candidates seeking admission into higher institution.
It was on this note that Dr. Dan Ekere a lecturer with the University of Lagos UNILAG was invited to Yourview TVC Show and he stated that, in his opinion, Nigerians don’t need JAMB to be admitted into the university.
Following the scrap, it means all tertiary institutions are now at liberty to conduct screening for candidates seeking admission into any school. Mallam Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, explained that there was no need for any other examination to be conducted by universities after Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
JAMB has also pegged the cut off mark for admission for 2016 at 180. However Nigerians are now reacting to JAMB’s new cut off that has been pegged to 180, and also the scrapping of the post UTME. Many viewed the new development as a positive one while some are of the opinion that the JAMB exam itself needs proper restructuring.
What do you think?

JAMB OR NO JAMB. POST JAMB OR NO POST JAMB, A GOOD UNIVERSITY MATERIAL WILL ALWAYS EXCEL WHATEVER METHOD YOU USE. PARENTS NEED NOT PANIC ONCE YOUR WARD IS MADE TO BE A UNIVERSITY MATERIAL. IN ANY STANDARD NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY, A SUB-STANDARD CANDIDATE WILL SURELY DROP OUT. PARENTS WAKE UP TO YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES. PERIOD
