Tunde Kelani’s Film School Welcomes Pioneering Students

In the world of film makers, legendary Tunde Kelani of the Mainframe Film Production is one of the most respected in that field. Hence, seeing that there is so much he could offer the industry, he saw a need to establish an institution, where those who seek knowledge in film making and media can get one and follow in his footsteps.

The Ogun State born film maker few weeks back open the door of Mainframe Film and Media Institute (MFMI) in Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State to the first set of students who came from all over the country.

Speaking on the vision of MFMI, Tunde Kelani said “I have always wanted to do this but not without acquiring a level of maturity and experience to serve as the lubricant for effective transfer of experiences gained over a career spanning more than three decades… Mainframe Film and Media Institute therefore is poised to impart artistic and technical education and practice to young ones and established industry professionals who need to update their skills from time to time.”

Film making being a team work, MFMI has facilitators with expertise spanning different parts of film making. The institution has at their disposals the best learned who are very much interested in impacting world class knowledge on filmmaking. They include top rated personnel like Tunde Kelani, Joke Muyiwa Fadirepo, Abiodun Aleja, Bola Bello, Femi Odugbemi, Wale Ojo, Niji Akanni, Olatunji Afolayan, Muritala Sule, Doyin Hassan, Ropo Ewenla, Steve Sodiya, amongst others.

The institution has kicked off its academic calendar with its pioneering students, who are taking Film School Basic (FSB) programmes for a period of eight weeks, which would end on the 8th of July. The second batch of the FSB programme would kick off in September through November, which gives other intending participants, who could not make the first batch, enough time to prepare.

On the days of the opening, personalities from different sectors of the society grace the ‘mini matriculation’. among them are, Adebayo Salami, Niji Akanni, Ropo Ewenla, Tunji Bamishingbin, Prof. Remi Raji, Yinka Akanbi, Dr. Tunde Adegbola, and a host of others. Mrs. Yewande Amusan, a senior consultant to Ogun State governor, represented the Ogun State government

During the course of their lectures, notable personalities have visited the students to impact inspiration and show support to Tunde Kelani. Among those that have visited are; Segun Odegbami, Alhaji Teju Kareem, Ambroe Somide, Mr. Segun Asaju and others.

Segun Asaju who is a consultant to United Nation, Federal Government and many other reputable international organizations particularly inspired the students to always balance the art and business side of showbusiness because like every living thing, business needs continuity which healthy business practice ensures.
