TVC E. Chelsea and Spain winger, Pedro, has revealed he wants to return to Barcelona.
Pedro disclosed that he has already spoken to the Spanish club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu regarding a possible move.
Pedro signed for Chelsea in August 2015 having previously spent his entire career at Barca, but struggled to make a big impact last season, scoring just eight goals in all competitions in his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain international claimed last month that he ‘misses’ Barcelona but insisted he had no regrets about joining Chelsea last summer.
It has emerged that Pedro is pushing for a move back to Barcelona with the winger keen to retire with the Catalan giants.
He said:
“Hopefully [I can return to Barcelona], I know it’s difficult, I spoke with the president when we saw each other at the Cup final and I also spoke with all the people who love me there,”
“It’s complicated, but I’ve always said I would like to retire at Barca.”
Pedro scored 99 goals in 321 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona from 2008 to 2015, winning 20 major honours including five La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League three times. During the 2009–10 season, he became the first player in history to score in six different official club competitions in one season.
Pedro represented Spain in two World Cups and Euro 2012, winning once in each tournament.
