TVC E. Nigerian R&B and Pop star 2Baba (formerly 2Face Idibia) can’t wait for an adventure in the Kenyan jungle!
The singer, whose 2004 smash hit African Queen propelled him to global prominencis in the country for a concert.
In an exclusive interview 2baba said “I love the Kenyan weather”
He added: “I just can’t wait to go on safari in the Kenyan jungle.
“I don’t know whether it will be in Maasai Mara or elsewhere but I have to be out there.
“I’ve heard that the big wildebeest migration has already started. I can’t dare to miss that.”
2Baba is of the opinion that African music is steadily catching up with the rest of the world.
He says: “The current state of African music is pretty exciting. It’s really growing and getting a lot of attention from the rest of the world.
“We are expecting more of this trend.”
In the course of the interview, 2baba was asked how is Kenyan music doing in Nigeria?
“Ooh…Kenyan music is huge in Nigeria! Talk of Sauti Sol, Wyre, Nameless… I mean it’s phenomenal.
“Personally, I loved Sauti Sol the very instance I heard them for the first time. They are simply amazing and very talented.”
He says that his collabo with the Kenyan Afro-Pop group was a project about the “goodness of being free.”
For a career spanning 22 years, the 40-year-old singer has so far released six studio albums.
The Nairobi show dubbed Buckwyld and Breathless is part of 2Baba’s Disruption Tour.
It’s slated for this Saturday at the Carnivore Simba Saloon.
The show will feature among other artistes Sauti Sol, Kagwe Mungai, Dela, Papa Dennis and Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee.
Other acts includes comedians Churchill, MC Jessy and Nigeria’s Alibaba.
