TVC E. The NNPC/Shell Cup is a social invested initiative that was initiated in 1998 by Shell and its joint venture partners and it has created a platform for the discovery of football talents from across secondary schools in the remote areas of the 36 states in Nigeria.
Fosla Academy Secondary School, Abuja, Government (Senior) Secondary School Darazo, Bauchi State, Excel Education Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Asegun Comprehensive High School, Ibadan, Oyo State, are now set for the semifinals of the 2016 ‘All Nigeria Secondary Schools Football Championship’, also known as NNPC/Shell Cup, which will be holding this weekend in Lagos.
Draws for the semi-finals will be taking place between 2.00pm and 4.00pm respectively this weekend says organizers of the competition.
Igo Weli, Shell’s External Relations Manager said the sponsors had enjoyed contributing to the society through the development of youths. He said plans were in place to make the final stage of the competition memorable for all, both participants and lovers of football.
Weli said “We are always proud of this competition because the results are there for us. Nigeria has benefited so much because many of our products are now super stars”.
The final is slated to hold June 16.
