Ooni of Ife appoints Ara as cultural ambassador

Aralola-Oba-Ogunwusi-2TVC E. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has announced the appointment of Aralola Olumuyiwa aka Ara as a Cultural Ambassador of the Ife kingdom.

She is well known for her skills as the first accomplished female talking drummer In Nigeria and she has been in the game for over 25 years.

According to the letter addressed to Ara, she was recognized for her cultural contribution to Ile Ife and Yoruba land as a whole. She would serve in that capacity as a promoter and preserver of the Talking drum for future generations.

Sharing the good news with her fans, the talented drummer took to Facebook to post some photos she took with the 41-year-old monarch at his palace along with appreciation message;

“With deepest appreciation to my lord, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi for appointing me cultural ambassador of his kingdom, words fail me and I cannot thank you enough sir. This is all the encouragement i need to remain steadfast and continue to promote our culture i promise to make you even more proud , the entire Yoruba race and Nigeria. My heart is filled with so much joy , this is the highest honour ever. God bless you my king. Long may you live. Arole Oodua! Official ceremony loading.”

loapAra, whose timeline has been flooded with good wishes following the announcement, also shared her letter of appointment.
