A 27-year-old mother of 4, Remi(Alias) tried committing suicide with her 12 months -old baby by trying to jump into the Lagoon.
Remi was restrained by two Rapid Response Squad (RRS) riders from off the Third Mainland Bridge.
According to the mother of 4, she claimed she heard a voice calling out to her to come to the Third Mainland Bridge.
Remi was spotted by a cab driver who immediately drew the attention of the Rapid Response Squad
on routine Patrol of the area.She was seen with her 12-months old baby on Tuesday the 17th May, 2016 at about 5:00pm when the incident occurred.
Upon interrogation, at the RRS headquarters,the lady said she trekked from Medina Estate in Gbagada to Third Mainland in response to a voice calling out to her to come to the Third Mainland Bridge.She pointed out that she decided to harken to the call because it repeatedly and constantly called out to her. Remi, a University of Lagos drop out, told RRS interrogator that before the incidence, she had issues with her husband before relocating to her parent’s house in Gbagada. Remi, along with her baby has been released to her relatives.
