The controversy surrounding the suspension of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress in Adamawa State has been resolved.
The party conducted its state congress on Monday with high turnout of voters across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
The congress which ought to have been conducted on Sunday was suspended over alleged hijacking of the party’s congress materials for the state by the former senior adviser to ex President Goodluck Jonathan, Barrister Ahmed Gulak, .
Gulak has denied the allegation, saying that what he did was to stand in as guarantor for the state in collecting the materials before he handed it to the election committee.
A chieftain of the party in the state Dr Umaru Ardo, attributed the distrust between the party stakeholders and election committee as the reason for the suspension of the congress. He however, commended the election committee for conducting a free and fair congress.
