Renowned American shooter, George Zimmerman, has announced that the handgun he used to end the life of Treyvon Martin’s is now going up for sale to the highest bidder.
Zimmerman listed the firearm—a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun—on trading site GunBroker.com , billing it as “your opportunity to own a piece of American history.” He declared himself “honored and humbled” to open bidding for the gun, which he described as an “American firearm icon… that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin.”
The renowned shooter shot Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida and was acquitted of second-degree murder on July 13, 2013 by a Florida jury .
The case sparked a nationwide debate and protests over “stand your ground” laws and race relations in the United States.
