Fraud suspect collapses during court hearing

A 35-year old man charged with fraud had collapsed in the courtroom
The incident had reportedly taken place at the Isolo Magistrates Court, Lagos, Nigeria.

The suspect identified as David Usman, who was accused of collecting N7, 000 from his victim, had reportedly fallen down as the court registrar had read the charge against him.

Reports reveal that efforts to revive him had been futile and that the presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi, had immediately contacted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Aswani, who had asked his men to bring the suspect back to the station.

Usman had been arrested by the police after he and others who are reportedly still at large, had defrauded their victim identified as Ogechi Udemadu, aged 19.

The victim had reportedly been accosted at 7/8 Bus Stop in Ajao estate and forced to give the money on her to the fraudsters.
