The Senate is working on a new bill that will lead to the harmonization of all poverty eradication policies and agencies in Nigeria for maximum productivity in catering for the poor.
The bill for an act to provide for the establishment of the National Poverty Eradication Commission is sponsored by Senator Ibrahim Gobir.
Senators are calling for proper redistribution of wealth and natural resources through increase in taxation of luxury goods and Value Added Tax to fund the commission when signed into law.
