Chairman of Giwa FC, Chris Giwa, has turned down the call by the sports minister, Solomon Dalung, to stay off the premises of the Nigeria Football Federation and allow the law to run its course by insisting that he is taking over.
Giwa, whose official statement was made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, said his actions were within the rule of law.
Following the initial threat on Friday to move into the NFF offices, Dalung had advised Giwa and his team to allow peace to reign in Nigerian football following last Friday’s court ruling in Jos, which the NFF, led by Amaju Pinnick, had appealed against.
In justifying his decision to take over, Giwa stated that the court had ruled in his favour.
