It is another busy week at the secretariat of the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), located along Oyemekun road in the heart of Akure, the state capital.
This time, it is the turn of the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Victor Olabimtan to declare his intention to become the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Accompanied by his supporters from the eighteen local government areas of the state, Olabimtan described APC as the most viable party in the state.
He says he is coming into government to transform the state, stressing that the state needs people with vision.
Olabimtan added that if given the mandate, he would run a transparent administration that will create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
He also promised to resuscitate moribund industries in the state, as well as create new ones through public private partnership programme.
In his response, the state chairman of the party, Isaacs Kekemeke said all party members working against the interest of the party would be punished in due course.
Kekemeke stressed the need for members of the party to work together for greater progress to be achieved.
It is expected that more aspirants will follow suit, as the political atmosphere in the sunshine state is getting charged for the November 26 Governorship election.
