Leading the ‘revolution’ set to kick off from April 29, 2016 are the hotly anticipated reality series Lip Sync Battle Africa, hosted by D’Banj and Pearl Thusi, and a new series of popular magazine show The Bigger Friday Show presented by Falz The Bahd Guy.
Other initiatives on-screen and on-the-ground from April include a 2016 VJ search – which its last edition produced popular VJ Ehiz Okoeguale in 2013, a weekly News Roundup, and a new series called “I Dare You”.
Commenting on the development, SVP and MD, VIMN Africa, Alex Okosi said;
“MTV Base is allying our music leadership and star power with viewer interaction and UGC (User-Generated Content), to create an all-new MTV Base as you’ve never seen it before, with a cheekier, more irreverent tone. This profound shift in our programming and consumer strategy creates a rejuvenated channel and entertainment that will reflect the experience, dreams and lives of Nigerian youth. Similarly, our new slogan or pay-off line, “My Life, My Base” reflects this new focus on viewers’ lives.”
The first episode of Lip Sync Battle will kick off with media personalities Denrele Edun and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
