It was a scene of fun as rapper Ja Rule delighted Ashanti and guests when he arrived at the singer’s sister’s birthday bash on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old singer and reality TV star was reunited with her former Murder Inc. label mate at the party she hosted for her younger sister Shia Douglas and was spotted ‘screaming’ as the rapper strode into Jue Lan Club in Chelsea, New York City.

An insider told the New York Post newspaper: ‘Ashanti jumped up and was screaming when Ja Rule walked in.’

Ashanti and Ja Rule have been close pals since they collaborated on a string of hits together including the track ‘Always on Time’ that featured on the rapper’s 2001 hit LP ‘Pain Is Love’ and their hit ‘Mesmerize’ in 2002.

The two friends partied until 4am with 50 of Shia’s friends and family members and everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to the 27-year-old budding fashion designer, who was also delivered an extravagant cake by restaurant staff.

Ashanti held the opulent party for her Shia just days after a man convicted of stalking Ashanti was jailed.
