TVC E, NEWS – Sequel to improved security in Katarko and Gujba communities of Yobe state, the state government has responded to the water needs of the two communities.
Yobe state Correspondent Michael Oshomah reports that the Nigerian army had successfully flushed out the Boko Haram terror group in the area.
Last week, the Yobe state Government procured some borehole rehabilitation equipment worth millions of naira to repair boreholes vandalised by the terror group, boko haram so that internally displaced persons who have now returned to their ancestral homes can have access to clean water.
Speaking to newsmen in the communities, the Manager of the state rural water supply agency, Mohammed Bukar says government is determined to meet the water needs of the communities.
The chairman of Gujba Local Government Area, Kyari Batarama appreciates the state government’s gesture and assures that the Local Government in collaboration with the state Government will intensify efforts towards reconstructing schools, health centres among other facilities destroyed by Boko Haram.Those who spoke on behalf of residents of the two communities located in Gujba local government area, expressed appreciation to the local and state Governments for responding promptly to their water needs.
The returnning residents of the Communities called for quick rebuilding of schools, health care facilities among other amenities so that other displaced persons can be encouraged to return home.
