Rivers POWA chapter urges young ladies to avoid abandoning babies

A call has gone out to young ladies in Nigeria to avoid abandoning their babies after childbirth.

Mrs Kimo who is the wife of the Rivers state Commissioner of Police, made the appeal when she led a delegation of the Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, to an orphanage in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

Members of the association donated food items to the home as part of its on week activities.

Mrs Kimo stressed the need for Nigerians to cultivate the habit of always showing love to the less privileged at all times.

The Rivers state police commissioner’s wife also appealed to young ladies who are in the habit of abandoning their babies after child birth to desist from it.

Matron of the orphanage, Barile Nwakoh thanked the delegation for their kind gesture and show of love to the children.
