Former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh will no longer appear before the House of Representatives Committee on Sports until after the two African Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Egypt in Kaduna and Alexandria later this month.
The two games against the North Africans are billed for Kaduna on Friday, March 25 with the return game holding four days later in Alexandria.
“The meeting has been moved so that the Nigeria Football Federation can focus fully on the Egypt matches,” an official told Africanfootball.com.
The former Super Eagles captain was specially invited by the members of the House to present his own side of his resignation story after he quit a month to the matches against Egypt. But since the lawmakers made their position known, the NFF officials had maintained that the hearing would be a major distraction to the crucial Group G games with the Egyptians leading the group.
Some other followers of the game backed the position of the NFF stating that the timing was not right as the outcome could generate fresh controversies instead of officials concentrating on the matches.
