Nigeria’s athletes will on Friday (today) begin their battle for honours at the 2016 International Association of Athletics Federations World Indoor Championships in Portland, Oregon, USA.
The competition, which began on Thursday with the preliminaries of the Pole Vault event, will end on Sunday. Orukpe Erayokan will be the first athlete to take the stage on Friday in the men’s 400m heats before Patience Okon-George runs in the women’s 400m heats.
Egwero Oghoghene will also compete in the men’s 60m heats on Friday before Lindsay Lindley competes in the women’s 60m hurdles heats. The semi-finals and finals of the two events will come up later in the day (Saturday Nigerian time). Stephen Mozia will also compete in the finals of the men’s shot put in the afternoon (also Saturday Nigerian time).
