TVC E, SPORT – Ahead of Tuesday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Egypt and Nigeria in Alexandria, the executive board of the Egyptian Football Association has been dissolved.
The decision was taken by a court on Sunday over suspected rigging of 2012 elections.
It is believed the verdict is final and cannot be appealed.
The case dates back to a lawsuit filed in 2013 by the president of the second division football team Bani Ebeid, Hermas Radwan, challenging the integrity of the voting process in the association’s 2012 polls.
The regular four-year elections of a new board are set to take place in September 2016.
Nigerian under 17 women team the Flamingoes have booked a place at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals.
Nigeria beat South Africa 1-nil to qualify for the tourney 7-0 on aggregate having won the first leg of the tie 6-nil in Abuja.
The Fifa u-17 women’s world will be held in Jordan from September the 30th to October the 21st.
Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroon will represent Africa at the tournament
