TVC E, NEWS – The famous Abubakar Rimi market, located in the Sabon Gari area of Kano is on fire.
The fire reportedly started around 12.35 due to electric spark.
Our Correspondent in Kano reports that fire fighters and other emergency management agencies are currently battling to put out the inferno.

When contacted, the Director of the state Fire Service, Alhaji Mustapha Rulwan confirmed the incident, saying the fire started at about 1am and had destroyed several shops in the market.
According to him, the fire started at the footwear section of the market.
“Our men are still trying to put out the fire as I am talking to you now we are in the market,” he said.
