2016 budget : NASS receives report of Appropriations Committees

TVC E, NEWS – The two arms of the National Assembly have received the report of their respective Appropriations Committees on the 2016 budget.

While Danjuma Goje laid the report at the Senate as chairman, Committee on Appropriations, his House of Representatives counterpart, Abdulmumin Jibrin, submitted that of the Green chamber.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said the budget would be passed this week and presented to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.

The more than N6 trillion budget was presented to a joint session of the National Assembly last December.

But it’s passage was delayed for months amid controversies of “padding” by some ministries and agencies.
