TVC E, POLITICS – The Deputy Governorship candidate in the Kogi state governorship election, James Faleke has adopted his written address.
After weeks of hearing pre-election matters, the Kogi state governorship election petition tribunal kicked off hearing of the substantive suit.
At the hearing on Monday, security operatives had a hectic day controlling the supporters of Faleke and Yahaya Bello.
Banners proclaiming support for both men were also seen struggling for the attention of passers by.
And after hours of putting heads together, counsels in the matter agreed on procedures for the hearing.
The petitioner, James Faleke mounted the witness stand to adopt his statement on oath and was cross examined.
Faleke told the court that having ran the entire political campaign with the late Abubakar Audu, INEC should have declared him winner.
Faleke insists that INEC erred by declaring the election inconclusive.
He also disagrees with his party, the All Progressives Congress for replacing Audu with Yahaya Bello.
The petitioner has closed his case and respondents are expected to open their defence this Tuesday.
