TVC E, NEWS – An Abuja High Court has granted unconditional bail to Ashinze Nicholas,an aide to the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Nicholas who was arrested last December , had dragged the EFCC to court challenging his arrest and continued detention without trial.
Justice Yusuf Haliru ruled that Nicholas’ detention without arraignment is a violation of his fundamental human rights.
The judge then granted Nicholas bail on self recognition, and ordered his immediate release.
EFCC Counsel declined to address the media on the verdict, but Nicholas’ Counsel describes the judgement as victory for rule of law.
