TVC E, SPORTS – Nigeria moved up a spot from 63rd to 62nd in the world in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday but there are no changes in the world’s top 10.
The Super Eagles are currently 11th in Africa, after only managing 1 win and 1 draw of the three games played in February.
The 3-time African Champions climbed above Guinea having garnered a total of 547 points, 7 points more than last month.
Interestingly, Cape Verde is now Africa’s best team after replacing Ivory Coast as the continent’s number one side.
Cape Verde now occupy the 31st position in the world, with
African champions, Ivory Coast a further 5 spots behind in 36th.
Algeria, Ghana and Tunisia are 3rd, 4th and 5th, while Senegal, Egypt, DR Congo, Congo and Cameroon complete the top 10 in that order.
No movement in or out of the top ten in the world with Belgium maintaining their top spot ahead of Argentina in second. Only 49 points separate both sides.
Spain are 3rd ahead of Germany in 4th and Chile in 5th.
Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, England and Austria complete the top 10 best teams in the world in that order.
