TVC E, POLITICS – President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan says a stronger collaboration between his country and Nigeria in areas of Trade and security will improve the fortunes of both countries
The President made this remark while paying an official visit to his Nigerian counterpart Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The visit comes just two days after President Buhari returned from his diplomatic shuttle to the Middle
East.
Erdogan who has been on a tour of West African states, believes Nigeria with its size is its most strategic partner in Africa.
Two memoranda of understanding were signed based on the most recent histories of both countries.
The Turkish President hopes the agreements will help in forming a collaboration to help both countries deal with issues of trade, and deepening cultural ties
President Erdogan also commiserated with Nigeria over recent activities of terrorism but pointed out that terrorism has spread globally and must be dealt with.
For his part, the host President Buhari acknowledged the help Turkey has rendered in the recent past to boost Nigeria’s security.
The President is hoping the agreements signed will be of mutual benefit to both countries.
