TVC E, SPORTS – Fan thrilled soccer club, Warri Wolves have progressed into the next round of the 2016 CAF Champions League without kicking a ball on Sunday.

The Warri side were billed to play hosts to Sao Tome/Principe outfit Club de Sporting de Praia Cruz at the Warri City Stadium in the first leg of the preliminary round of Africa’s premier club competition.

Wolves had complained that the Sao Tome club kept them in the dark as regards their travelling arrangements until late Saturday when news emerged that CS Praia Cruz will likely not make the trip to Nigeria despite the arrival of match officials.

The Sao Tome club were absent at the pre-match meeting, and on Sunday at 4pm local time, Wolves lined out with no opponents present.

The match officials, Daniel Nii Laryea, David Nelson Agyin and Paul Atimaka, all from Ghana, after 15 minutes performed a walkover ritual in favour of the hosts.
