The female lawyer –Yewande Oyeniran who allegedly murdered her husband , Lowo Oyeniran, in cold blood at their Akobo residence in ibadan on February the 2nd , 2016 was on Tuesday the 16th 2016 re-arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iyanganku but taken back to Agodi prison shortly after she was brought in.
The presiding Chief Magistrate over the case, Mr. Kehinde Durosaro–Tijani was informed that the Oyo state’s department of public prosecution (DPP) had given legal advice that the case should be transferred to the state high court for further hearing.
The accused, Yewande was earlier brought into the courtroom with her face covered with a veil, a development which did not go down well with the family members of the deceased and their legal counsel, kehinde Adesiyan.
The counsel to the accused, Oluseun Abimbola, said he saw nothing wrong with covering his client’s face, stating that he had every right to protect his client even if it means covering her face with a veil.
Family members of the deceased are worried that they may not get justice as the accused works with the Directorate of Public Prosecution in Oyo State. But With the release of the legal advice within a week, it may have allayed any the fears the deceased’s family members may have.
