Osinbajo assures EITI of accountability in oil sector

TVC E, NEWS – Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has assured that transparency is one of the critical pillars of President Mohammadu Buhari’s Administration, with particular emphasis on the extractive Industry.

Osinbajo made this clarification when he received a delegation from the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

State House Correspondent Mariah reports that it is the first major assignment since Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s stepped in as acting President relieving temporarily, President Muhammadu who is on a six day vacation.

While receiving a delegation from EITI, Osinbajo restates the stand of his Principal on accountability and transparency

Indeed he assures his visitors that one of the objectives this administration has set for the nation is to ensure judicious use of the country’s resources

It is an opportunity for the Incoming Chairman of EITI to make his observations on the restructuring of NNPC, and other developments in the Oil sector.

The acting President assures the global Transparency monitoring Group that the Buhari administration is determined determined to work with its Nigerian branch to ensure good governance and keep proper accounts

Osinbajo says the Government will also explore how more revenue can be generated.
