TVC E. A 28-year-old man Chinonso, who was alleged of hitting hammer on his neighbor Ebuka to death, has been apprehended by the police.
According to sources, the ugly incident happened when Chinonso accused Ebuka of insulting him over the smell of a dead rat coming from his room.
The accused was arrested by the Lagos State Police command Panti just as he planned to escape after hearing about the demise of the victim.
Chinonso who confessed to killing the late Ebuka lives at Mafoluku airport road, Lagos.
Narrating the incident, Chinonso told TVC NEWS crew at Panti Police that: ”Yesterday the whole compound was smelling of a dead rat and we started looking for it, but we found out it was from Ebuka’s room. so i told him to clean his house and make sure Rat does not die again.”
”Ebuka started abusing me that should go and clean our own room first before talking to him, he thinks because he is older he can intimidate me with his huge size and height.”
” so i went inside our room and brought out the hammer my daddy bought to repair our cupboard and i climbed the corridor and hit the hammer on his head.”Chinonso said.
An eye witness Mikel Oyim who lives in the same compound with the two of them said:
”Chinonso hit Ebuka with the hammer on the head he felt dizzy and fell down. When he started bleeding we took him to a nearby chemist not knowing the level of damage the hit have caused,” he said.
It was too late before they realized as he eventually died yesterday 27th of February 2016 night before he was taken to the hospital.
The family members of Chinonso immediately evacuated the house as soon as they heard the news of demise.
Chinonso had earlier refused to cooperate with the neighbors to take the diseased to the hospital , calling their bluff and asking them to do their worst. Yesterday however, he had came home to pack his load but was apprehended by the police.
