TVC E, MOVIES – Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has disclosed that has received death threats after he posted a tweet indicating his choice of candidate to win the country’s presidential election.
The actor turned politician had blogged on the social networking site that Nana Akufo Addo, will lose the election.
Although he stated that he had nothing against Addo, the tweet has apparently attracted a backlash.
“I keep on receiving threatening messages from anonymous persons. They are threatening my life…so many things for making a statement. But I give everything to God. They are issuing the threats on social media, anonymous phone calls and things. ” he stated during an interview with Kasapa FM.
He however, noted that he feels safe at the moment and he has yet to report the issue to the police.
”I think it has not gotten to the point of reporting to the security yet. I am a very security conscious person. Wherever I go I just have this security thing around me. I just don’t stay at a particular place at a time.”
Dumelo further stated that he is taking his safety seriously and that he is currently safe on his own.
