Nollywood actor, Dakore, has stated that the desire to bleach one’s skin is connected to self-confidence.
Speaking in an exclusive chat with TVCconnect Meets, the thespian wondered why anybody would want to change their skin colour.
She however, noted that she is neither in support nor against the trend which seems to be fast catching on in society.
“I am happy with what God has given me, why would people want to change their skin colour?” she asked.
Further, she said: “Skin bleaching has always been there, remember those days when our aunties will step out looking black and beautiful in the morning and return looking all yellow and white in the evening, literarily speaking. This is just to say that the fad of bleaching has somehow gone past being a fad, it seems to have become a culture.
“People do it for various reasons, but I really don’t see any reason for it”, she says, adding that the reason may not be far from the fact that people are not really confident in themselves.
The mother of two advised that people should consider the health implications of skin bleaching before venturing into it.
