TVC E. Kissing can be pretty awesome, but it can also be pretty sickening, not just for onlookers, but for the people engaging in the wonderful sport of tongue wrestling.
And there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that you don’t know about kissing.
Most commonly passed between kissers are cold and flu viruses. The common cold is easily transmitted through saliva, so be careful.
Sore Throat is another disease that spreads through saliva, kissing someone with a sore throat could infect you and inflict you with the same medical issue, bodily fluids are a hotbed for passing bacteria and viruses to one another, so it’s not uncommon to get a sore throat after a heavy make-out session with your partner.
Cold Sores: If you kiss someone with a cold like sore which is popular known as herpes, you may be infected with the virus… and for your information, it has no cure. Oral Herpes “Most people contract oral herpes when they are children by receiving a kiss from a friend or relative.” If you have cold sores on your lips or around your face, the ASHA recommends refraining from “oral sex and kissing others directly on the mouth until signs have healed and the skin looks normal again.”
Hepatitis B is actually not spread through kissing, but spread mostly by blood, so unless someone who is already infected with it has an open cut on the inside of their mouth and is bleeding. Though not entirely impossible to catch hepatitis B from playing tonsil hockey, it is highly improbable.
Oral warts can be transmitted through any cut in your mouth, even fine cuts in your gums from vigorous brushing with your toothbrush.
Meningitis is “an inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord” and occurs “when the protective membranes around the brain and spinal cord known as the meninges become infected.” It’s spread through saliva, and can kill even the healthiest person “within 1 day after the first symptoms appear.”
Hand, Mouth, And Foot Disease is transmitted mostly through feces, it happens when your hands have fecal bacteria on them and it is spread to an open sore in your mouth. Guys like to put their hands on your lips during kissing. Watch out.
Tooth Decay: The bacteria that causes tooth decay can be deposited in your mouth from your kissing partner’s saliva. Can also say Gingivitis which is Caused by “bacterial plaque and poor dental hygiene,” gingivitis is contagious and can be transferred through kissing. Brush your teeth regularly to prevent gingivitis, and if your significant other is OK with it, brush their teeth too.
Worms and Fungus If you’ve got a pet, we would advise you to refrain from kissing it. “[Dogs] can carry worms, fungi and they can carry [pathogenic] pastuerella in their mouths, although cats are worse.

Should we even stop kissing at all because it seems kissing is as bad as unprotected sex?
