Fred Amata has emerged the President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN.
The popular actor cum director won a keenly contested election, held few hours ago at Tourist Garden Hotels and Resort, Asaba, Delta State, beating Lancelot Imasuen, Dickson Iroegbu and Kingsley Omefe.
One of the strong contenders, Dickson Iroegbu, reportedly withdrew from the race few minutes before the election, a situation we heard caused a brief uproar.
‘Considering the presentations made by us, I have sensed that supporting Fred Amata will be better,’ Dickson told a source.
‘The truth of the matter is that I was not in the race for some selfish reasons. It was about the Directors Guild of Nigeria and the entire Nollywood. That was why my campaign was centered on Nollywood rebirth.
