TVC E, POLITICS – The Ekiti State Government has obtained a court order for the arrest of the former Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party-Tope Aluko.
The Attorney General of the state told newsmen in Ado Ekiti that on the strength of a petition by one Olowolafe Sunday, he has obtained an order from Chief Magistrate Soji Adegboye directing the police to arrest Aluko for alleged perjury.
Lere Olayinka, the media aide to Governor Ayo Fayose, via Twitter also confirmed the report.
“Court issued Warrant of Arrest against TKO ALUKO for Perjury. Police ordered to arrest him,” Olayinka wrote.
Aluko caused controversy on Sunday, January 31, after he unraveled an alleged grand scheme which ensured Governor Ayo Fayose won the June 2014 guber poll in Ekiti state.
He alleged that former president, Goodluck Jonathan gave Fayose $37 million cash to rig the election.
