TVC E, NEWS – Ogoga Ikere Ekiti has described the claim of Olukere as the rightful ruler of Ikere as a distortion of the history of the town.
Oba Adejimi Alagbado told newsmen at his palace that from time immemorial Olukere has been the Chief Priest of the community for the Olosunta rock and nothing more.
TVC News Correspondent, Akin Ogunmola reports that it is the claim of Olukere which re-ignited the supremacy contest between him and the Ogoga.
Ogoga reacted to the claim with archival correspondences to show how the Olukere family must always seek the approval of the Ogoga before any Olukere is installed.
Reacting to this controversy, Spokesman to the state Governor said that successive administrations in the state have recognized Ogoga as the monarch of Ikere Ekiti.
Ikere Ekiti is the second largest city in Ekiti State after the state capital, Ado Ekiti and it’s home to the tallest mountain in the predominantly hilly state.
