Eaglets draw Niger, Algeria, Gabon and Libya in World cup qualifiers

Nigeria-Under-20TVC E, SPORTS – World Champions, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will begin their journey to the next FIFA Under-17 World Cup against Niger in August.

The Eaglets have been drawn in a group which also consists of Algeria, Libya and Gabon.

Before Nigeria take on Niger, Algeria and Libya will play in the first round between June and July.

The winner of the tie will play Gabon in the second round, while Nigeria take on Niger.

The overall winner of the qualifying pool will go on to the 2017 African Under-17 Championship coming up in Madagascar.

Similarly, Nigeria has been drawn with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya and Malawi in the qualifying rounds for Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations holding in Zambia next year.

The Flying Eagles have drawn bye to the second round of the qualifiers in May, when they come up against the winners of the first round clash between Burundi and D.R. Congo.

The Seven time African Champions will play the second round first leg match away from home between May 20th to 22nd, while the return match at home will be staged in the weekend of June 10th to 12th.

The overall winners of this second round clash will then be drawn against the winners of the Sudan versus Kenya against Malawi.

The third and final round will be played in July.

The African Under-20 Cup of Nations will be hosted by Zambia from February the 26th to March the 12th, 2017.
