Africa’s Legend, Angelique Kidjo was one of the winners at the just concluded 2016 edition of the Grammys as she walked away with her third award from the prestigious event.
The elated singer, who won in the ‘Best World Album’ category for ‘Sings’, dedicated her award to Africa musicians.
‘I want to dedicate this Grammy to all the traditional musicians in Africa, in my country, to all the young generation,’ she said.
The legendary singer, who recently collaborated with Nigeria’s Omawumi,further called for peace in Africa while speaking against violence on the continent.
‘Africa is on the rise, Africa is positive, Africa is joyful, let’s get together and be one with music, and say no to hate and violence’.
Angelique Kidjo also won in the same category last year with her album ‘Eve’.
