TVC, E NEWS – President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday proceeded on a six-day vacation, handing over his official responsibilities to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
A statement by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said Buhari will be away for five days.
Adesina said the President has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives in line with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution.
It would be recalled that Buhari departed the country on Tuesday for France after a two day visit to Ogun State where he commissioned several projects to mark the 40th anniversary of the state’s creation.
While in France,he addressed a special session of the European Union Parliament.
He later moved to London to participate in the ‘Supporting Syria and region’ conference.
In a speech at the London conference, President Buhari applauded the initiative to protect the people of Syria from the vicious war.
