According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Lagos Statement Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Helicopter belonging to Bristol Helicopter with Reg. NO. N5BQJ with 11 souls on board crashed at radia 136, 70 notical mile en route Lagos from Port Harcourt today 3rd February 2016.
“The helicopter ditched inside the ocean and all the 11 souls on board are alive, no casualty.” LASEMA stated.
LASEMA said all emergency responders – 3 RRS Search and rescue Helicopters, Nigeria Navy, Airforce and others were immediately deployed for the operation.
LASEMA attributed the success recorded to the support of Agip, Mobile and Shell oil company in the provision of speed boat. It also said Bristol Helicopter company also provided landing boat for the evacuation of the survivals resulted The survivals is in adherence to the use of life jacket.
It states further that : “The success of this is attributed to will of God and the recently conducted emergency preparedness simulation of air crash by NEMA, LASEMA and other stakeholders.”
LASEMA said further investigation on the crash will be looked into by the relevant authorities.
